Egypt visa for Sudanese citizens 2024 (full guide)

Obtaining Egypt visa for Sudanese citizens has become a concern for many Sudanese due to the increasing desire to enter the Arab Republic of Egypt, stemming from the ongoing crisis in part of Sudan, as well as the ease of residency and the low cost of living in Egypt.

 Additionally, there is a close similarity in customs and traditions between the two countries, along with extended familial and marital ties across the borders.

Sudanese citizens of all categories currently need a visa to enter Egypt, following changes implemented by the Egyptian authorities regarding the visa policy for Sudanese in June 2023. The previous visa exemption policy, which included women, children, and individuals over the age of 50, has been abolished. These new changes are a response to the current situation in Sudan and aim to regulate the increasing flow across the borders. As a result, all Sudanese citizens, regardless of age or gender, are now required to obtain a visa before crossing into Egypt.

Types of visas offered by Egypt

Tourist visa:

It is the most common among those coming to Egypt and grants you a tourist stay in Egypt for duration of 90 days.

Student visa:

It allows the applicant to stay in Egypt for the entire duration of their studies, with the option to apply for a student residence permit after entering Egypt, provided that the institution or university is qualified to accept foreign students.

Business visa

A work visa allows you to stay in the country for 90 days to attend meetings, conferences, seminars, travel, and invest in the country.

Diplomatic visa

The diplomatic visa is issued to individuals who are either diplomats, hold high-ranking positions in the government, or are invited by the Egyptian government.

 Egypt visa for Sudanese citizens Requirements and process :

Sudanese citizens who wish to travel to Egypt must follow the visa application process by visiting the Egyptian consulate in Sudan in the cities of Wadi Halfa or Port Sudan, or in foreign countries, and carry out the procedures according to the following steps:

Fill out and submit the visa application form, which usually contains personal information, travel details, and the purpose of the visit.

Present a valid passport with at least six months of validity (original and copy).
Please provide a clear image of the Sudanese national ID.

Please provide two recent photographs measuring “4X6” with a white background.

Presenting the vaccination card for yellow fever (the yellow card).

For students, and to facilitate and expedite the visa application process, a final acceptance letter from one of the Egyptian universities should be attached to the above documents.

Sudanese residents in Saudi Arabia and Gulf countries can obtain a visa for Egypt by submitting the above documents (except for the yellow fever card) as well as a valid residence permit in the respective country for at least six months.

The consulate then processes the visa application for the applicants, which takes a few days and can take up to 15 days. Upon approval, applicants are notified to collect their passports after the visa sticker has been printed and affixed to a page in the passport.

Egypt allows citizens from “106” countries around the world to obtain a visa upon arrival at one of the Egyptian airports by paying a fee of “25” dollars. Sudanese citizens can also enter Egypt through a security permit or security approval, which can be applied for at the accredited Egyptian offices. This serves as an alternative to Egypt visa for Sudanese and allows for a one-time entry, permitting a stay of up to 30 days in Egypt. However, it is not free and requires payment in dollars.

Residence in Egypt

After entering Egypt, Sudanese individuals can apply for residency in the country according to certain procedures. There are several types of residency in Egypt, the most notable of which are:

Tourist residency: Its legal duration ranges from one month to one year.

Student residence: It ranges from 3 months to one year.

Investment residency: its duration ranges from one year to five years.

Real estate residency: It is granted for a period of 3 or 5 years.

The residency of spouses of Egyptians ranges from one to three years.
